HEY MICKEY YOU'RE SO FINE,YOU'RE SO FINE YOU BLOW MY..MONEY. MAY 2019 Index

Day 15

Not much had been planned for this morning other than a bit of shopping. We had Hollywood Studios planned for the afternoon. I was keen not to waste the morning so a spur of the moment decision was made to go for Breakfast at Keke's and our shopping location to be the other outlets at the top of IDrive. Sargent Major style I got everyone up and ready to go. I can be a hard task master but someone needs to be. They don't like me doing marches and drills though for some reason. They draw the line when I bang our Reveille on the trumpet.

We were all set and out the door about 8.30am. We headed off down the I4 once again bound for Keke's. So this was one of our favourite breakfasts from last time. We had planned on going earlier in the holiday but things changed. The Keke's we would be visiting was the one in Dr Phillips.

It was a saturday just before 9am so thought we night have a wait but luckily we got seated straight away. A few minutes later there was a large wait.

We didn't take too long looking at the menu as we all had a good idea of what we were eating.

We started off with large glasses of orange juice.

The girls both went for the Florida pancakes. These are the ones everyone knows from the photos. It has 3 large pancakes. We managed to persuade the girls to drop that to 2 after trying to make it 1 each They still failed miserably as its just too much. They loved the fruit but truth be told I'm not sure how much they liked the pancakes. They said to flourery whatever that means.

I had a create your own waffle combo. I chose sausage and breakfast potatoes. I also had a side of bacon. This was good. I'm pleased I went for the waffle as the pancakes are a bit much.

Kelly went for apple cinnamon french toast which she loved.

Overall very good and I'm pleased we went out of the way to go but its more expensive than a regular breakfast location. I'm sure we will return again.

I was very familiar with the area as we spent a fair amount of time around here a couple of years ago. I decided to ignore the sat nav instructions and head down IDrive to see the sights once again. As we drove down I really felt IDrive gets a bad wrap. I personally thought it was much nicer than the 192. I'd happily stay there again. We drove past the new Universal Hotel Endless Summer. The price of this makes it a real option in the future.

We were soon at the Outlets and parked up. It was just about opening time. I was surprised how quiet it was. We'd arrived at a similar time at the Vineland ones and it was far busier. We got a disabled spot easily and headed in.

First shop was Haviana. Kelly bought a couple of waterproof wallets and so did Evie. I wish looking back I'd got one as well!

Evie wanted to buy something nice with her birthday money so she bought a nice bag from Guess. Luckily she didn't take as long to choose as she does trainers.

Next into Quicksilver. We spent a fair amount of time in here browsing. I wanted a better pair of swimming shorts so I found some nice ones in here than I bought. I'd never bought so much stuff on holiday before! I think the difference was I put seperate money aside for myself rather than using our general spends which always reluctant to take from even though I could.

We just had general mozy around in out of shops. If I wanted to go in then I did, if not I'd take a seat somewhere while the others went in.

We eventually came to the Disney Store. I didn't even bother going in. I picked a seat while the ladies went in. They were in there a fair amount of time but I didn't mind as I know Kelly loves going in the Disney Outlets.

I was desperate for a drink. There were some vending machines close by but annoyingly I was short on change so I popped into Panera Bread to get a drink. I bought a bottle of water for the ladies. Rip off!

After awhile the ladies were done. Kelly had bought a Spirit Jersey and various other items including Alex and Ani bracelet. Lily had a good spend and bought a Baby Groot t-shirt, Black Widow t-shirt, a bag and some badges.

Next we passed the Sketchers shop. As described at the previous shopping day I love me a pair of Sketchers so when in Rome I decided to get some more. My favourites I'd already bought so I bought myself a smarter pair to where for work. It was again buy a pair get a second pair half price. I bought Kelly some flip flop type Sketchers things.

Lily also bought from one of the stalls this kind of Lego type things. She bought Stitch and Captain America.

Next into the Vans shop. I'd already bought myself a few t-shirts in the Vineland Vans so instead I bought myself a camo baseball cap. Kelly got a Vans sweatshirt.

On to the most dreaded bit of the day. Evie wanted new trainers. I have never met anyone so fussy about this! We headed into Nike and we were in there about 35 minutes. Lots of shouting, arguments, numerous trainers tried on, lots of eye rolling for suggesting certain trainers. We came away with none. So annoying.

It was incredibly hot once again and about 1.00pm we decided to call it a day here. I was surprised how much I had bought at our two trips to the Outlets. Its certainly something we will do on future visits. I'd possibly do a trip on the first day to buy a job lot of clothes for the holiday.

Kelly and Lily wanted to go to a Dollar Tree. We'd passed one on IDrive somewhere but we missed it driving pass much to Lily's annoyance as it was a big one. We found another one somewhere(I can't remember where). Out the front was packed as there seemed to be an event happening at a Mexican place a few shops along. I found a parking space round the back. I was tempted with Dunkin Donuts but decided against. On a side note I tried to convince the girls that the owner of Dunkin Donuts was a Frenchman called Duncan Donet. I think Evie believed me. I walked in to Dollar Tree and saw how busy the tills were so went back to the car. The others weren't that long before they came back. When will they learn the Dollar Tree is rubbish!

We drove back now to Encantada. We had about an hour before we were due to head off to Hollywood Studios. Me and Evie decided to go for a quick swim. Lily and kelly decided against it. Lily was keen on looking at her shopping haul.

Annoyingly the pool was like yesterday and the group of kids where there causing havoc. We jumped in anyway but it wasn't great so we didn't stay long. We didn't have a great deal of time so it wasn't too big a deal.

We left Encantada about 3pm. We arrived fairly quickly and once again I paid for parking on my Revolut card. We got lucky with our parking as we managed to find a disabled parking space which seemed few and far between. We made the short walk to the park entrance and the heat was incredible.

The Skyliner was being tested.

It was also very busy but that was expected as it was Memorial Weekend saturday. We got through bag check and the magic band readers fairly promptly.

We made our up Hollywood Boulevard. It was busy but not horrific.

First thing I needed to do was cancel an adr at 50's Prime Time Cafe. For some reason it wasn't showing on MDE so I had to do it person. I was hoping there would be no charge. I was cancelling as I'd booked it on a whim. I was doing fine with my spends but I was reluctant to buy table service meals at Disney prices. I cancelled it without any issue.

We then made our way over to Toy Story Land to get a DAS for Slinky. Once again we didn't need to go fully in to the area as there was a DAS station by the entrance. We could use this in an hour or so.

The fastpasses I had booked for today were all shows. First was Beauty and The Beast. We made our way towards the show but we fancied a snack first. So of course now we weren't on the ddp we wanted to use more snacks.

It was so hot we needed some refreshment.

I went for a Mickey Ice Cream only because the ice cream stand opposite had a huge line.

Kelly went for a raspberry slushie.

Evie fancied some grapes.

We then made our way to the fastpass queue for Beauty and The Beast. There's a little area to the side where you queue. I swear this is the hottest place on earth! It's always horrible. I never forget waiting there to see Warwick Davis give talk at one of the now defunct Star Wars Weekends and nearly passing out with heat. Everyone waiting was doing there best to get shade until a CM made everyone bunch up. Someone must have said about the heat and he sniped back that he had to stand in it all day so you can cope for a few minutes. I was really surprised to hear a CM say that. In all the times we've been I've never heard one back chat a guest.

Eventually we were let in although we all felt like we'd been camped out in the Sahara. Evie wanted to sit near the front so we were led down by a CM to a seat near the front. (If your reading Universal, that how you act ) While waiting for the show to start I looked at Quick Service dinner options that I could do mobile ordering again. We made our choice of the ABC Commissary and I placed our order for later. The show started and the girls and Kelly enjoyed it. I'm not fussed by it but its still well done.

I had timed our fatpasses pretty well in that we could walk slowly towards Indiana Jones and the fastpass line should be open. It was and we walked a long snaking line with many others. Stand by folk were just walking in with no line! Again I asked to get near the front and again our request was met with no issue. The show was very good as always bar one thing. It was missing something. It was lacking from the time we saw it. What was missing was me. If you read my last report then you'll know I got selected to be a performer in the show. Kelly had made it clear I was not to repeat that as they didn't see the show properly as they were watching me. I couldn't face the humiliation of doing a dance again!

From here we headed to get dinner at the ABC Commissary. Once we entered I went to a mobile order check out and was given a tracker for our food to brought to our table.

Kelly went for the Teriyaki Vegetable Bowl which was Stir-fried Napa Cabbage, Snap Peas, Red Peppers, Carrots, Onions, Edamame, ≈≈≈≈ake Mushrooms and Broccoli tossed in a House-made Teriyaki Sauce over Brown Rice topped with Crushed Cashews. She really enjoyed this.

After making a few bad choices Lily went back to her tried and trusted kids mac and cheese. The cheaper and more yellow it is the more she likes it She got a cookie and fries as a side.

Evie wasn't amazingly hungry and had the kids turkey sandfwich with fries and a cookie as sides. The kids didn't like the seasoning on the fries though.

I went for the Southwest BBQ Burger. This was a Flame-broiled 1/3 lb Angus Burger topped with Chipotle BBQ Pulled Pork, Cheddar, Green Chilies and Bread and Butter Pickles finished with Green Chilies Aïoli and Crisp Onion Rings on a Brioche Bun served with Signature Southwestern Steak Fries dusted in Chili-Lime Seasoning. This was pretty good.

Overall not bad but feeling those prices without free ddp.

From here we made our way back to Toy Story Land but as we walked past the Olaf meet and greet we saw it was only a 10 minute wait. Lily was keen to see Olaf but Evie made a big fuss about seeing him saying she wasn't a baby. We said tough and joined the line. It felt like longer than 10 minutes but in reality it wasn't. Lily was pleased to see Olaf but Evie refused. Never mind.

We then made our way towards Toy Story Land. As we did we passed the entrance for Galaxies Edge. I was gutted we wouldn't get to go but I'll get my chance one day!

We joined the fastpass line but as soon as we did the ride went down. We decided to stay put and luckily it was up and running within 5 minutes. We once again loved Slinky.

We had a restroom break and it the tiny urinals in the mens was a funny touch.

Next up it was about time to make our way to see Fantasmic. On the way we stopped in the Beverley Sunset Boutique and Lily bought a Toy Story 4 Barbie. We made our way up a very very busy Sunset Boulevard going towards Fantasmic. We had fastpasses and as we got to a CM I asked about getting to the front. We didn't really need to ask and we found our way to the front. It was really busy and we could only get 3rd row. Evie was fuming about this! She may be visually impaired and registered blind but she still managed to see a group move from the front row. Quick as The Flash she was all over those seats and we soon joined her. This turned out to be a mistake! Once settled I went and got some drinks and we sat back and relaxed while we waited for the show to start.

Some futile attempts at mexican wave were made but they disappointingly died off half way round. As soon as Fantasmic started an announcement was made about front row getting wet. Evie and wet are two words that don't belong together. Me, Kelly and Evie put our hard hats on waiting for Evie to kick off. The wind was blowing towards us and we got wet! Not soaking but it was a pretty continuous light drizzle. Evie was muttering under her breath the whole show! Anyway we all enjoyed Fantasmic as always.

Once it had finished we decided as we were over the far side to hang back. We waited about 10 to 15 minutes for the queues to die down to make it easier for Evie to get out. This one of the few times Evie will willingly use her cane. It was as organised as ever and it didn't take us long to get out the park. We posed for a couple of pictures by the Tower Of Terror which looks amazing at night. I was disappointed we didn't ride this as much as I'd hoped though.

It was a comfortable walk out and we got to the car really easily. A couple of years ago it took us half an hour to get out after Fantasmic but we were out in minutes. The drive is pretty straightforward and we were back at Encantada about 10.45pm.

Overall a very good day!

Thanks for reading.

Wow front row Fantasmic! Have booked FP for this as opposed to dining package this year - what is the FP section like? Is it quite central?

Thanks for reading.

I'm not exactly sure if we were in the Fastpass section as we walked along to get as close to the front as possible. We were over to the far left. It was fine but it took awhile to get out.

I had to have a little chuckle at poor Evie's expense at Fantasmic!, bless her not thinking she was going to get wet.
