Cali Grill looks amazing! I love how they let you choose extra mains.
Really enjoying your report. Thank you for sampling the Alfredo at both POFQ and POR, you have saved me a job, I’ll just stick with POFQ! 😁

Starbucks Portofino

A quick Starbucks breakfast

Bacon and cheese for ds and Dh. They loved these.

I had an everything bagel with cream cheese which was delicious.

And the view was awesome.

So excited to see Portofino, we are going to stay there for the night for our Wedding Anniversary, I can’t wait! The pizza looks really good and I think I may need to sample the cheese plate with a glass of wine too!

Yachtsman

After returning from universal we didn’t really have any energy for the parks but still fancied a nice dinner so had a look at what was available in the hotels. The yachtsman was available at 7.30 so we went for that.

We last ate there 2013 and I found the food a little too rich for me but was happy to give it another go.

I have to say our server here, Thomas was one of the best servers we have had.

Menu

The bread rolls were amazing, pull apart onion rolls with roasted garlic and butter. So good!

I had a glass of Pinot Grigio and Dh had a beer and a Diet Coke for ds.

Dh ordered the New York strip steak with mashed potatoes, I’m not a potato fan but these mashed potatoes were brilliant. He loved his meal. (There’s a theme developing here)

I had the fillet Mingon, this steak was perfectly cooked as well and so so tender. I had home cooked fries, the mash was better. I loved my meal.

Ds had the seafood ciopinno. This had a 5oz lobster tail in it. He adored his meal.

For dessert I had the sorbets, strawberry and mango, raspberry and blueberry. These were fantastic!

Dh had the cheesecake he thought this was ok but liked the sorbet better.

Ds had the carrot cake, again he thought this was ok, our server did offer him the chocolate puzzle if he wanted.

Overall an absolutely stunning meal with wonderful service.

California Grill Brunch looks amazing.

Wonder if I can convince mate to change one if our dinners for this😀

Am I correct in thinking it’s 2 Table Service Credits per person?

We currently have 1 TS not booked at the mo.

Mate would like to know what was in the magic cookie bar?

Thanks

Early morning magic - HS

This seemed like a good idea when we booked it but it was a real struggle to be up.

We headed to breakfast after all the rides and it was a bit chaotic when we arrived but managed to get a table for 6.

You could help yourself to cereal, fruit, yogurts and pastries. There was soda, milk, juice, tea and coffee available.

You could then order mains at the counter, as many as you wanted.

We each had the chatcuterie plate. They sprinkled egg over the smoked salmon, why would you do that? Apart from that it was ok.

I then shared the chicken and doughnuts with Dh which was actually really nice, really hot and crispy and a nice combination of sweet and savoury ( Wordsworth - look away now&#128514

Ds had som shrimp and grits to try which he thought was ok, but not a patch on the Cali grill ones obviously.

The fruit was lovely and the pastries were nice.

We didn’t really do it for the food but it was all nice enough and we were happy enough with the event itself, 4 rides on TSM, 2 on slinky dog and 1 on aliens.
