Five Fords Fifth Family Floriday Aug 18 - Day 4 - Shopping & Seaworld at Night
Saturday 11th August
I managed to have a bit of a lie in this morning it was 7.30am when I got up. Went out onto the balcony as usual but because it was later the sun was fully up and it was red hot! There was a little bit of shade in the corner so I sat myself down there and went on to write my notes up from yesterday. Scott nipped down to Starbucks to get us both a coffee. There was a coffee shop located opposite the towers so very convenient for us. It was well appreciated too. Kids managed to have a good sleep then once up and all showered we made out for the day. I’d seen a few reviews and photo’s of Keke’s whilst reading through trip reports and I thought if we had time we could check it out. Took us around 20 minutes to drive over but we managed to find it ok. It was busy even though it was 9.30am. We waited 20 minutes for a table so not too bad considering. The food was very good and arrived very promptly. We had seen some photo’s and the portion sizes looked really big - we still couldn’t believe how huge the pancakes were once they came out! Jamie struggled with his meal and so did Poppy so we ended up taking 1 of Jamie’s pancakes back with us along with some of Poppy’s waffles! It was lovely to have proper American breakfast even though we were totally stuffed afterwards. We drove over to the Premium Outlets, this time at the north end of International Drive. We were very lucky to find a parking spot straight away as someone was just pulling out of a spot as we passed by. It was very busy which did surprise us a bit as it, you’d think that most people went to the parks in the day. Had a few stores on our list, Bath and Body works, Kate Spade, Disney Character Warehouse and a few more besides. All happy with our purchases even though we didn’t get a lot, it made for a more relaxing day. Arrived back at the Blue Heron at 4pm, Poppy really wanted to go in the pool so Scott and I took her down there for a swim whilst Hayden and Jamie chilled in the apartment for a hour. Poppy was so happy to finally get in the pool! There were just a couple of other families enjoying a splash around there so it made for a nice relaxed hour. It really was so pretty here by the pool with lovely views across the lake. Behind the pool area were little wooden walkways, some with brightly coloured rocking chairs on them. It would make for a lovely place to sit and relax. When we got back to the room the boy’s had showered and changed so we did the same. We’d skipped lunch as we were so full, in favour for an early tea. Took a little bit of deciding as to where to go but there was an Appleby’s close by to us so we made that our place of choice. It was practically empty inside so we had no wait to be seated and our food came out promptly too. Just the usual American type food here, nothing fancy but it suited its purpose. Afterwards we took the short drive over to Seaworld to watch the night time entertainment that was happening – Electric Ocean. In the distance we could hear the music from the dance party as soon as we entered the park. it was all high energy dance type being played, sounded really good. Firstly we took the walk through the aquarium at Manta as we’d forgotten to do this on our last visit. It’s a really cool place to see some beautiful sea creatures. We walked round towards the dance party, I’m sure this was the only route we could take? This led us behind the stage to the dance party which was in full swing, looked like a lot people were enjoying the tunes! Pretty lights all around the park We wanted to catch the Shamu night time show so we carried on walking on to the stadium. It wasn’t busy inside and we managed to get a good view but I found the show to be quite sad. The whales didn’t want to follow the trainer’s command’s, which is fine, but the trainers seemed to be at a loss of what to do? By the time the show had finished it was proper night time and the pathways were lined with various light changingl lanterns. There was no way we could’ve have got a seat in the main viewing area to watch the fireworks and fountains show so we just stood at the side of one of the paths to watch. It was ok, mainly a fountain display to music with a few fireworks going off towards the end. It was nice to see and we’d had a pleasant evening here, it did make a change to visit in the evening time. We wouldn’t rush back to this summer event though once is enough to experience it all. It took us a while to exit Seaworld what with so many people leaving at the same time. Eventually made it out of there at 10.30pm and we were back home and in bed for 11pm. A slower paced day with a mix of shopping, pool time and park! |

What a lovely day. Your breakfasts at Keke's look great, and huge. It's somewhere we're very much looking to trying for the first time in November, and your photos have made me look forward to to even more now
Good shopping, lots of filled bags there. Nice enough evening at seaworld, despite your reservations about the show.

We did manage to visit Keke’s, just a few days ago. It was fab! Unfortunately we’re now at the airport on our way home 😢

We always needed a slower paced day by this point - but they always end up being busy really don’t they? Sounds like you all had a lovely time shopping, swimming and summer-ing (?) at seaworld x
