We are just back and did food and wine on opening day - the photos are in my report on this thread. We used 14 snack credits whilst we were there and I loaded $50 drinking fund onto a gift card. I used that up and had to add a little bit more. I highly recommend India and Thailand. I also loved the Smoky Margarita in Mexico. I can’t wait to see what you try. The cruise sounds lovely - I would love to incorporate a cruise into our trip. I have done a RC around Europe when I was pregnant with Eva with husband number 2 (now ex husband &#128514 and also one around Morocco and the Med when I was recovering from cancer which was a freebie from a cancer charity for young women with kids. I really enjoyed cruising but I don’t think my daughter would go for it until she’s a bit older. I am looking forward to seeing your photos from the different ports and the food on board the ship.

We stayed at French Quarter too this year. It’s a great resort. I love that it’s so compact so less walking after the gruelling park days. I really liked the beignets there and I discovered the voodoo chicken sandwich on checkout day which was delicious - wish I’d found it sooner as I would have had that a few times. I found the buses to be easier and less busy than at other resorts.

Can’t wait to follow along with you 😊
Hi

I really enjoyed your report and agree with you that POFQ is a lovely compact resort.. we fell in love with it on our last trip in 2016 and can't wait to be back!

Thanks for the tip re the voodoo chicken sandwich... I'll definitely look out for it. We have free QSDP for the first time, so I'm excited to try different things and of course alllllll the snacks

We are waiting for updates in the cruise currently as we were meant to be visiting Coca Cay in the Bahamas so sad to see what Dorian has done.

Thanks again for commenting... really can't wait to get started now!

Thanks so much... I’m actually now officially at 3 stone 7 pounds according to my weigh in yesterday. I’ve been a little more relaxed yesterday and today and I’m currently paying the price so not sure whether I should have eaten a little more normally for longer! Fingers crossed by Wednesday I’ll be ok!

Thanks for reading

Pre-travel day!

Hi all,

I still can’t quite believe that pre-travel day is here... after all this time!

Thanks for all the comments and likes on the report so far.

I’ve planned and poured over this trip so much I really hope that it lives up to expectations.

I’ve also worked really hard on my wellbeing in the run up to this trip and my total weight loss amounted to 3 stone 7lbs or 49lbs in total. I’m so proud of myself and feel much happier and healthier. Whilst I’m looking forward to all the food whilst we’re away, I’m hoping not to undo my hard work too much and would be pleased if I manage to put on less than a stone... we’ll see!

So, we started our pre-travel day with a cup of tea in bed at 6.30am.. its tradition now it had to be in my Animal Kingdom mug.. it was more like a pot of tea than a mug

I had to go into work this morning whilst DH pottered around at home. He made the worker a mushroom omelette to use up some mushrooms, eggs and grated mozzarella we had in the fridge.

It hit the spot and saw me through to tea time with the exception of a bag of Lidl’s knock off quavers.

We checked in online when I got back home and set off for the Raddison Blu at Manchester airport. This was a bit of a nightmare due to a closure of the M6 northbound. We made it to T2 meet and greet at 5.45pm after setting off at 2.45pm, with a stop at a service station for M&S picnic (£10.90 - doesn’t include the crisps, water or pick and mix these were bought from Tesco last night).

We did twilight check in which was super easy, we have exit row seats and the check in lady said no one is in the window seat, at the moment so fingers crossed we will have the row to ourselves! Our bags weighed 20kg/18kg/18kg with one case packed in another to bring 4 back so plenty of room for ghiridelli chocolate if we have loads of snack credits left!

We indulged in our M&S picnic which was lovely...

Especially the lemon buns!

We headed down to the bar for a drink to toast the start of our trip (£9.30), and I took some photos of
the menu for anyone interested -

And the pizza menu -

Let’s face it, it’s not going to beat our Blaze pizza tomorrow night!

Cheers

We’re back in the room now watching Location, Location, Location which this week isn’t too far from where DH works.

Alarms are set for 6.15am tomorrow, we have fastpass tickets through security then onto the airport lounge for breakfast!

Thanks for reading along.. I’m looking forward to (attempting to) reporting live and being able to re-live our trip when we are back.

Goodbye for now

Edited at 08:32 PM.
