Could just eat a dole whip float. Enjoy Teak.
We absolutely loved it there and I said to DH how wonderful it is that we got to experience it just from being part of the Dibb. I wish my parents had have been with us as I know that my dad in particular would have loved it too!

Yeah the secret menu was cool, beforehand I thought they wouldn’t ask for the password and it was maybe just a gimmick but he actually asked and it came with a lock and key. The burgers were honestly incredible.

Oh no that’s a shame.. it’s our first off site sit down meal this trip. We also have Mannys and Longhorns planned as well as breakfast out so we’ll see what they suggest for tipping. Won’t be long for you, hope you have a great time!

Thanks for your comments everyone!

Wow... I now feel a need to go to Teak. The burgers looked incredible!

We don’t have a car so will be relying on Uber from Cabana Bay... I wonder how far the nearest one is.

No problem! If you do get chance to go I definitely would, it was great.

If you follow them on Facebook they are currently doing a $5 a day burger deal with a different one each day too.

Enjoy!

Teak looks great - we had planned to go this year but never made it as we were given free pizza from PBR the day we had planned to visit because our room took so long to be ready. 100% going next year! Cheeky with the minimum 20% tip though. Can’t wait to see your next update.

Day 2 - Cracker Barrel, Polite Pig and columbia Harvour House

Good morning

Day 2 started at 4am for me, I’ve really struggled this time to get into a good sleeping pattern, although right now it’s 5.45am so that’s an improvement from yesterday.

Despite eating a weeks worth of food last night at Teak I woke up feeling hungry, so at around 5.30am when DH woke up I cracked open some finger biscuits we didn’t eat on the plane and had a few with a cup of tea in bed, it was lovely!

Our new plan for today was breakfast out at Cracker Barrel near the airport, there’s a Ross Dress for less and a Homegoods behind it so onto there, then Target, Dollar Tree, Ross and TJ Maxx at Rolling Oaks then fastpasses in Magic Kingdom from 5.30pm.

We arrived at Cracker Barrel before 8am and to my surprise it wasn’t too busy. We have been before on the weekend and it was full of local families, but I guess we were early birds!

Here’s the menu -

We ordered an orange juice and a hot tea to drink. The tea cake with two tea bags but only one milk/creamer so DH asked for me which wasn’t a problem.

I already knew what I was having, I have had the same each time we have visited as it’s my absolute favourite here.. buttermilk pankcakes (3) with warm peaches.

I forgot to ask for no whipped cream, but when it came I scrapped it into a little bowl that DH’s breakfast came with.

It was as good as I remember! The peaches were spiced with a little cinnamon which I don’t remember from before, and although I’m not a huge cinnamon fan I did enjoy it. I devoured all 3 pankcakes!

DH ordered the double meat breakfast with his eggs sunny side up.

The menu said it came with thick cut bacon, but I’m not sure if you can see from the photo it didn’t look very thick cut to me. He tried the oatmeal and the grits and made little sandwiches from the sausage patties and said he really enjoyed having something different.

The service was good, the waitress took time to speak to us and the food was as good as ever.

The bill came to $22.75 and you leave a tip on the table (we left $5) and pay for your food at the cash register in the shop.

I absolutely adore the shop in Cracker Barrel, they had 4 Christmas trees up with different designs as well as a fall stand and a Halloween stand and other merchandise for sale.

We picked up one Disney Christmas decoration on day 1 for $27.99 and I had a basket full from Cracker Barrel for $40. The girl wrapped them well in tissue paper for me although none were glass so should travel well. DH went and sat outside on the rocking chairs whilst I did a little shopping.

If you have never been to Cracker Barrel for breakfast I really would recommend it, it’s good value and great food.

We spent the next few hours shopping. I had some birthday money to spend and picked up a new rucksack, a diary and journal with my money. I also bought some new dresses and we picked up some gifts so a good days shopping was done.

In Target we picked up 24 Desani waters for $3.99 - I think they are that price for 1 in the parks so this was good value. Then in TJ Maxx we picked up a stainless steel bottle to attach to my Disney clip I had bought on day 1 so we could fill it with water than keep topping it up at the quick service locations.

We decided not to eat at our Sweet Tomato as it’s likely our quick service credits are going to run away with us so we drove back to the hotel and caught the boat to Disney Springs.

DH had looked at the menu on the way and decided upon Polite Pig which is great as it was on my to try list.

It’s located opposite uni qlo for anyone interested.

When we arrived it was super busy, it was 1.30pm and I totally forgot about it being a Saturday it was probably busy with lots of locals.

DH went and got a table and I joined the queue where I stayed for 30 minutes before being served! Told you it was busy!

Here’s the menu -

And a close up of the from the smoker and market sides -

And the drinks -

For the quick service plan we could choose something from the smoker along with a market side and a drink.

DH went for the brisket with coffee rub, the baked beans and a ravenous pig saison du cochon to drink.

I chose the baby back ribs with waffle fries and a pina colada mocktail (the mocktails change and the offerings today were pina colada and strawberry).

I thought I had read that you get asked if you want to tip at the tills and I was prepared to polity day not at the moment or something like that, but I wasn’t even asked! I did get asked for ID though which given the fact I’m 35 on Tuesday I was chuffed about!

I was given a pager type thing and told to sit down and our drinks and food would be brought over to us.

We didn’t wait long and our drinks came over -

Both the drinks were good, and DH’s was especially good value as his would have been $9 if we were paying out of pocket.

I’ve read before people saying they were put off by Polite Pig from the BBQ smell although I have to say that i didn’t find the smell to be overpowering at all, just thought I’d mention it for anyone interested.

Again we didn’t wait long for our food to arrive, and it looked and tasted delicious.

I counted my ribs for the purpose of the food report and I had 9 in total. They called them baby back ribs on the menu but they were quite large and they were pink (see photo above). However, I think that was down to the rub and not that they were undercooked.

I gave two of my ribs to DH along with half of my waffle fries. The slaw was light and refreshing, almost zingy, it was a great accompaniment. DH didn’t eat his cornbread, but I tried mine having never had it before and it was sweet, I enjoyed it.

We couldn’t fault Polite Pig at all, in fact DH said his brisket was better than the one he had last week when we went to a local smokehouse near us.

It was a great use of a quick service credit and we left with very full bellies indeed.

We caught the boat back to the resort after picking me up a spirit jersey and spending the last of our $200 gift card.

We headed to Magic Kingdom this evening. It rained on and off so our ponchos king of did the hokey kokey in and out of my rucksack all night. Boy it was busy in the park tonight, compared to yesterday it was manic. I think at one point buzz lightyear was a 70 minute wait!

We had fastpasses for mine train, big thunder and space mountain.

DH fancied something light for his tea after Polite Pig so after checking the menus we opted for Columbia Harbour House.

We didn’t wait too long to be served, but it was busy with people wandering around with trays of food looking for a table. Once we had ordered and I was waiting for our food a table for two became free near the registers so we bagged that one.

DH chose the grilled plate with salmon which came with green beans and savoury rice and given I had never tried them but heard so much about them I ordered the chicken nuggets. We both ordered a lemonade slushy.

DH really enjoyed his meal, there were no bones in the salmon and he said it was nice to have rice and some greens too.

Unfortunately I didn’t rate the chicken nuggets at all. The chicken was breast meat, however, I found there to be too much batter with them which I didn’t think was particularly well seasoned. I’m don’t get the hype on these and cake away feeling like I had wasted my choice. Definitely won’t be getting them again.

The star of the show for me was the lemonade slushy, it was so zingy/tangy, it didn’t freeze up too much and seemed to last for ages. DH are his with a spoon but I drank mine using one of our re-usable straws. Delicious.

People started queuing up for Happily Ever After around 90 minutes before it stated, so we found a place to the right of a reserved area (which seems to be either for cast members for their families as there was a lot of hugging between them and cast members on duty going on).

I got talking to a lady from Wisconsin which was lovely as the time went really quickly. She was telling me that they are travelling to the UK next May and was excited to try pudding. When I asked what pudding she meant, she didn’t know. I explained there were many kinds of pudding, steamed, bread, Yorkshire, black... I think she cake away more confused It was nice to actually sit and chat to someone as most people around us were sat with their heads in their iPhones.

I enjoyed Happily Ever After, it was our first time watching it and I had avoided seeing it on vlogs as I wanted to experience it myself. We were behind one row of people watching the show and a guy proposed to his girlfriend during it, which got a round of applause from everyone in our little section. I didn’t cry, which I did with wishes and I was so engrossed it watching the projections on the castle that I was kind of distracted from the actual fireworks. We both enjoyed it though and I’m glad we got to see it.

Our plan after the show was to let the crowds disperse so we headed for the ice cream parlour to use some snack credits.

We were one of the first there as it was quite close to where we had been standing, but it soon got really busy with quite a line outside.

Here’s the menu -

DH chose the All American Sundae -

And I had the ice cream cookie sandwich with mint choc chip ice cream. This originally came on a plate but I asked for a bowl too as I thought it would be easier to eat.

2 snack credits used.

DH enjoyed his, he said it was sickly sweet but was right up his street! It was a good size portion, although it didn’t take him long to eat it!

I took a few bites from the top cookie and transferred it onto the plate, ate all my ice cream and took a few bits from the bottom cookie. This was far too much food and a good use of a snack credit.

I bought from zip lock bags with me so put my cookies in there and brought them back to the room with us.

DH wanted a drink so I sent him off to pick up some Starbucks using another 2 snack credits.

I thought he would be gone for ages, but was back quite quickly with a strawberry açai refresher and a berry refresher.

I tried DH’s and didn’t like it at all. Not sure if it tasted tart or what it was but I’m glad he got it so I could try it.. I’ll be sticking to my strawberry ones.

We headed out of Magic Kingdom to the bus stop with around a dozen people in front and only waited around 5 minutes before a bus pulled up - result! I had forgotten though how cold the buses are with the air con on at night!

We had a great second day, I loved my breakfast as always, but the stand out meal by far as Polite Pig. This was the best use of a quick service credit yet.

And for anyone thinking the quick service plan is just burgers, we have had pizza, fajitas, ribs, brisket, salmon and nuggets so far - not a bad choice at all.

Quick service credits balance - 36 - credits used 4 - new balance 32

Snack credit balance - 33 - credits used 4 - new balance - 29

Today we are off to KeKe’s for breakfast, celebration to look around the farmers market, we may head back to Disney Springs for some lunch and then tonight we are in Animal Kingdom and getting to see Pandora for the first time with a FOP fastpass.

Thanks for reading everyone!

(Sorry for any spelling mistakes, it took me over an hour to write this up, so I’m not going and to proof read it - hope it all makes sense!)

Free pizza should always win! It’s definitely worth a try if you can put it in your plans next year though.

Thanks for following along
