I love your breakfast “starter”
We are big fans of Ghiradelli’s ice cream and usually opt for the hot fudge sundae though we much preferred it when they used to serve them in glass dishes.
Looking forward to seeing what you get at Epcot.

Day 7 part 2

Hello from Epcot!

We have found a spot outside a shop in Italy with a central view of the Epcot ball and a seat where we can lean our backs again the wall so we are staying out for the next 30 minutes until the show starts.

We haven’t done as well tonight trying the different foods, but I think the ice cream (and the rice Krispy treat I finished in the room) did us in!

The notes are what I made on my phone as we were going around. Here goes...

Thailand

Marinated chicken - smelt better than it tasted. Large chunks of broccoli, one sugar snap pea, not a strong flavour. Wouldn’t get it again.

Islands of Caribbean

Empanada- tastes like chilli con carne in a pasty, easy to eat, quite spicy (after kick)

Alps

Raclette - bread was stale, potato’s cold, one gherkin was sweet the other not, the cheese tasted nicer than it smelt. There was a long wait for this one!

Brewers collection booth

Beer flight (DH) (cash $9.75)

Far right to left

Schofferhofer hefeweizen pomegranate beer - very fruity, not very strong in alcohol content, refreshing, easy to drink, 2nd

Hacker-pschorr hefe weisse naturtrub- crisper taste, like traditional blonde beer, light easy to drink, 1st

Weihenstephaner festbier lager, freising - distinct bitter taste (more than the others), IPA, 3rd

Drink booth in Italy

Blood orange sanpellegrino ($5.60 cash)

That’s it for now. I doubt we will get anything else tonight but if we do I will post it tomorrow.

Here’s a summary of the credits we have left -

Tomorrow we have a morning in Animal Kingdom planned with another fastpass for Flight of Passage and the evening we were due to go to Longhorns. I think we’ll see how we get on for credits tomorrow during the day before deciding what to do tomorrow evening.

Thanks for reading

It was a yummy starter!

I did see the hot fudge one... I think those ice creams tipped us over the edge today!

We haven’t done too well in Epcot tonight... think we’re getting food fatigue!

Thanks for reading along and commenting!

Ooo Longhorns is mine and Eva’s “must do” off site place every year. If you do go I recommend the spicy firecracker shrimp starter it’s delicious. Followed by flo’s filet and mash. Washed down with a strawberry margarita. I’d happily eat that right now for breakfast 😋

I didn’t rate the raclette from the Alps booth. It needed more cheese over the whole thing.

I don’t think we are going to make it this trip as DH wants to go back to Polite Pig and we still have 8 quick service meals left so it seems wasteful to not use them. We may go for lunch when we dock back in on the cruise, thanks for your recommendations

Yes the raclette wasn’t the best, but I’d seen the Trackers raving about it on a vlog so wanted to try it. Not one I’d rush back to.

It actually tasted a lot better than it smelt! When I was in line waiting for it after I had paid it actually made me feel a bit queasy but it wasn’t bad just the accompaniments weren’t so good and there needed to be more cheese!

Finally, I’ve found the time to catch up, it’s been fab seeing all your meals, especially your Food & Wine snacks.

I’m so sad that your meal at WPE was disappointing, I absolutely love that chicken dish. The tip chat sounds so incredibly awkward and I can’t even imagine how desperate/shameless you’d have to be do that.

I knew about the snack credit price limit at Ghiradellis but not that you could use a QS credit for a sundae and a drink, that’s useful information, thank you!

Thanks for the pictures of the Blaze toppings, we’ve never been and I think I’d be overwhelmed if we were to go so I’d like to make a plan of attack.

Laughed at OH saying the blue mlik tasted like Lenor, it certainly looks like it.

P.S. Thanks for the tip about the bag clip from MK, I actually need one of those and was going to order one from Ebay before we go but if I can pick up a Disney one that’s even better!

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to catch up... I’m glad you have found it useful.

I’ve read a lot of good things about WPE I’m wondering if I was just unlucky and DH really loved his.

The lady at Ghiridelli was one of the friendliest we have encountered, she took the time to explain everything and was willing to crunch the numbers in the till in terms of what drinks we could get to use a quick service credit.

I too found it a little overwhelming in Blaze and I do feel like they expect you to be quick about answering what you like.. but there’s so much to choose from! If you get chance to visit I would though it’s a great place!

The bag clip and bottle have been one of our best purchases of the whole holiday. They were at the till points in the emporium on Main Street. I can’t say I’ve seen them anywhere else, but then I haven’t particularly be looking.

Not long until your trip now.. hope you have a great time!

Thanks for reading

Day 8 - Animal Kingdom, Five Guys and Disney Springs

Hi everyone,

We are currently waiting on the boat deck at Disney Springs so I thought I would make a head start on my report.

We slept in a little today and woke up at 8am. We had fastpasses for Flight of Passage at 10.15am and we only just made it by the time the bus came and we got through bag check.

DH sat FOP out as he experienced too much motion sickness the last time so I rode it alone and enjoyed it more the second time.

I knew I wanted to get a night blossom drink, which is probably one of my favourite uses of a snack credit.

It tasted like a twister ice lolly. The straw was big enough to suck up with little balls and didn’t turn soggy. It was really refreshing and I wish we’d have got two.

As we didn’t have breakfast we had a very early lunch, probably around 11.45am.

After being unimpressed with Satu’li Canteen the last visit we headed for Yak and Yeti quick service. We have ate in the restaurant twice before and loved it, so we were excited to try it.

DH had the tempura shrimp with rice, I had the honey chicken also with rice and we used two snack credits on a portion of fries and the mango pie.

DH had a lager and I had a Minute Maid lemonade.

DH enjoyed his shrimp, he said he was impressed that it was theme park food and tasted good. I really enjoyed my honey chicken too, it wasn’t too much of a strong honey taste, the only thing I wasn’t too keen on was the rice, it was a little too al dante for my taste. The fries were nice, although maybe a little disappointingly a little small, but the seasoning was nice it was a little spicy.. more like Indian than Chinese flavour.

My Minute Maid was HUGE - the biggest drink I’ve had yet on the quick service plan. There really is no need to have it that big unless you are a family sharing it and then I’m sure it would go around 4 people easily.

I had read good things about the mango pie so I was excited to try it. It was basically a cheesecake with a very thick (very rich gloopy) mango middle. It was also very sweet. DH had two spoonfuls and said it wasn’t for him. I ate the biscuit base and left the middle it was just too thick and rich to eat. Not one I would get again.

We used a snack credit to pick up a frozen lemonade inside dinoland and sat on a bench for 20 minutes or so and watched the world go by. It was lovely and I forgot how much I enjoy the frozen lemonades.. I might try and get one tomorrow too as I enjoyed it so much.

We left Animal Kingdom late afternoon and took the car out to the shops on Vineland Road. Around 4pm we started to get peckish and there is a Five Guys on the complex so we stopped for two small burgers.

I had the small cheeseburger and DH had the small bacon burger.

They came to $13.21 and after we had eaten them
we picked up a bottle of water for $2.21.

We both enjoyed our burgers, they were cooked fresh and the baps we really fresh. We enjoy Five Guys at home too but we very rarely go (maybe once a year) as we find it to be very expensive, however, they were probably similar price here.

We got back to the hotel around 6.30pm and we got ready and headed to the boats to Disney Springs at 7.45pm.

We had originally planned Longhorns for tonight, however, with 8 quick service credits left we decided to head back to Polite Pig.

DH had the beef short rib this time, and I had the baby back ribs again. We both had the waffle fries and the meals came with mini cornbread and slaw.

To drink DH had the same beer as last time the ravenous pig and I had the strawberry mocktail with added rum, basically a strawberry daiquiri.

There were more available tables this time and the food and drinks didn’t take too long to arrive.

My daiquiri was lovely, although if paying out of pocket it wouldn’t have been worth $11... there QS quite a bit of rum in there though. DH liked his beer again.

When compared to the brisket, DH didn’t like the short rib as much. He ate a fair bit but hit quite a big chunk of fat and couldn’t quite get past it.

I’m not sure I enjoyed the ribs as much the second time around either. They seemed tougher than the first time.

I enjoyed the slaw just as much, it was really fresh tasting. The waffle fries were good too. Neither of us ate the corn bread.

We were glad we went to Polite Pig rather than Longhorns not because we would have enjoyed it more, but because of having the Five Guys quite late in the day we wouldn’t have done it justice.

There was a great atmosphere in Disney Springs tonight, it was busy being a Friday evening, but there was entertainment in different areas and a real buzz around the place.

On the way out I stopped at Goofys Candy Company again to pick up another rice Krispy treat with milk chocolate, mini m&m’s and white chocksfe drizzle. I’ve brought it back to the room to have some tonight and tomorrow.

When we got back to the resort, I went and picked up some drinks. DH has had a coffee and I had a hot chocolate. The hot chocolate has definitely lived up to the hype, it’s delicious, and if you are on the plan and have a resort mug I would definitely recommend trying it.

So it’s our last day tomorrow before we head off to the cruise on Sunday.

Our plan is to do some resort hopping then we’re heading to Magic Kingdom tomorrow evening.

Here’s a summary of the credits we have left...

Thanks for reading everyone
