Oh gosh, Boma breakfast is my absolute fave. Why am I not going!? I am very tempted to squeeze it in. I am so happy you enjoyed it. I also rate dinner.
Narcoossee’s vs. Bluezoo is a tough call as we loyal Narcoossee’s customers and the cheesecake that Pez mentioned is to die for. BUT I think Todd English’s is a bit more special for your last night. |

Kids have requested a Boma breakfast next trip, we haven't been for a while. Nice to see that it looks as good as ever.

Thank you. Late Boma breakfast seems the way to go, I can easily imagine it could be hectic but we were there from 9:30am onwards and it was very pleasant.
We did Tusker House last trip and also enjoyed that and the slightly different offerings, I think it could well be that someone that enjoyed Tusker would enjoy Boma. Thank you. I hope to get a Boma dinner next time. I did. Thank you. The lobster mac n cheese definitely not well publicised, it is only because of my natural born talents of detecting any lobster or mac n cheese within 100 metres, that I discovered it. Thank you, I enjoy doing the report. The decision is made. It is Narcoossee tonight, we were (sort of) at TEBZ last night, I am putting off writing it up. It was fab. I will be trying to fit it in next time too, not something I do often no matter how much I enjoy a meal. |

'Kind of' doing both sounds like a very good compromise. I hope you enjoy Narcoossee's.
Have you done Citricos in the past? |

Day 16: Todd English Blue Zoo dinner (lounge)
After Boma breakfast we chilled out at AKL for a while (I love that resort) and then caught the bus to Hollywood Studios. We did pretty well with extra fastpasses and we had a late afternoon Sci Fi Dine in reservation. But it was so hot, we were melting, so I persuaded Nev that maybe we could go to TEBZ lounge instead to cool off and make up for yesterday. Deal.
We got the boat over, had a quick look around the hotel, which we really liked. Nev expressed some concerns about conference go-ers, I don’t know why, he goes to conferences as do I and we are not that bad. Anyway we headed back downstairs to the lounge and settled into one of the booths. When I wrote my previous report somebody commented on crab nachos at this establishment and they have been on my mind ever since. So we ordered a portion to share. I am not sure if this was late lunch or early dinner or was just food. I also wandered over to take a look at the restaurant, not yet open for service. Nommy nom nom. I would say these were the best nachos ever. But they were unusual and not like other nachos. Nev doesn’t want to say that they were the best ever but he will say that he thought they were very very good. I am probably more of a fan of nachos than he is, with Italian and Mexican being my two favourite cuisines and him more Asian inclined. We settled in and started talking about our next holiday which will be my 50th birthday next year. We even bought a notebook and started to price things up and do pros and cons. Before we knew it, we decided to order a main course from the restaurant menu which was provided to us even though we were in the lounge. For me it had to be the lobster as I have not had a whole one so far. . Nev, more of a red meat person normally, opted for the miso glazed mero which is a sea bass with ginger rice, sticky soy and black garlic, catering well to his favoured Asian cuisine. We were baffled as to why our dishes were both served with this absolute mountain of leaves that look like the week old Tesco rocket salad that invariably sits in my salad draw before being chucked. I have not seen this on any of the marketing photos, it was not mentioned on the menu and it was truly revolting. I made a start on my lobster which was apparently (per menu) “tossed” in a sticky soy glaze. I would actually describe it as being smothered in heavy batter, drowned in glaze and was so heavy I could barely pick the fork up. There was a lot of it, so no complaints about portion size. Halfway through, I had to swap meals with Nev. Now, his sea bass was delicious, I don’t recall a nicer piece of fish, it was so soft, it melted in the mouth. Nev persevered with the lobster but he struggled as I did, he thought the lettuce was weird, the rice was nice but the lobster was ruined. His view was that chicken or pork can be smothered in batter and sticky sauce but this is a waste of lobster. I enjoyed Nev’s fish, but I tried a spoonful of the rice and it was so bad I had no choice but to spit it out. I can assure anyone that I do not go around spitting food out without good cause. I have rarely done it in my 49 years, I am not a fussy eater and I would normally only be reduced to that if I thought something might be undercooked and make me ill. But this time, I will confess it was because it was the most revolting rice I have ever tasted. I wish we had stopped at the nachos. |

Oh no Claudette, after all of the jesting Nev received from us he must have felt vindicated in initially missing Bluezoo out. Very much a mixed bag but you've taken it in good humour. Those nachos sound to die for.
