One of these days I'm going to go to Y&Y and only get the green beans! Or maybe two starters .

Thanks!

Eh, fizzy juice! I think the non-Scottish call it fizzy pop - Coke etc. I do remember my cousin confusing a server in Liberty Tree Tavern by asking for juice and I had to interrupt and say soda! The server assumed she wanted orange or apple juice! We would generally say can of juice to describe diet coke, coke, sprite, fanta etc.

Yes this confused me greatly when away with her! I wonder if it’s all of Scotland? She’s from
Inverness. I know people from Glasgow and not heard them call it that!

No they might call it ginger! I do think it’s a lot of the country though as we’re Stirling.

No I think they dropped off at AKL too I believe but after us.

The water bottles were just cheaper versions of the Chilly bottles

Looking forward to reading along.

I do think Virgin should rethink that mozzarella and pesto roll, I haven't seen anyone say they like it.

Day 2 - Be Our Guest, Gastons, Columbia Harbour House, D-Luxe Burger

Today was planned as Magic Kingdom. I had booked Be Our Guest for an 8am (ish) breakfast before the EEMH were announced but we decided to keep it. This meant we could get some rides in before the park opened to offsite guests at 8am and then be eating while they all piled in.

We shared the donut twist with a coffee from the machine but I forgot to take a picture. It was fine and filled a hole.

We checked in early for BoG at 8am. I think the booking was 8.20. It was a wee bit shambolic and they sent us to the right hand queue even though we’d pre-ordered and that’s generally the left. We pointed out we had pre-ordered and were handed a yellow rose however no indication to go to the left. Luckily we have been before so knew.

After we had paid and both declined an alcoholic drink we were seated for the first time having QS at BoG. They must have been busy. Annoyingly this meant we were seated in the West Wing which while brilliantly themed is too dark to see anything! It also made my pictures pretty awful!

As usual Marie ordered the Croque Madam. I've included an internet photo!

I had the open faced sandwich which is a croissant with bacon, poached egg and brie.

We also got some fruit and a plate of pastries to share. We were pleased to see the brown muffin was gone!

I had also decided to get a Masters Cupcake as I really like these. Because you get quite a large breakfast I didn’t have room for it but had the great idea of using one of the cups with a lid to transport the cupcake for consumption later. I’m such a genius!

Internet photo.

We enjoyed breakfast here as usual and it’s a great use of a QS credit. If paying OOP two people could probably share one meal as the drinks are self service anyway.

Marie was determined at some point to try the Cheeseburger Spring rolls made famous by Tim Tracker so mid-morning we headed to Adventureland in search of the cart. We found it but unfortunately they weren't snack credits so we just left it. We did a couple of rides then found ourselves at Gastons Tavern where we got a Le Fous Brew each.

We didn’t feel the need to have any food but I did have my cupcake as Marie reminded me so decided to eat it. Well until I seen it…

Lesson learned. It’s too hot to carry a cupcake about in a paper cup in your hand bag!
Anyway, we decided to decide on lunch at that point so we could pre order. We decided on Columbia Harbour House and ordered 2 chicken and fish combos, mine with green beans and fries and Marie ordered double fries as you get two sides and she didn’t fancy any of the others.

We actually took a while deciding here and when we arrived at the Mobile Order Collection point I noticed both the Lobster Roll and the salmon looked good. We easily found a table upstairs and enjoyed our lunch. I had been feeling a bit seedy but perked up after lunch so I think it was just hunger.

One point about mobile order. While it was essentially great, often it would say the order was ready but when I got to the window it wasn’t. This usually happened when there was some other choice to be made that wasn’t on the app however not always. I still preferred it to queuing to pay.

Later after we’d collected the car we went to Walmart for a few things. We got “hurricane muffins”, the banana nut muffins we’d enjoyed so much during Hurricane Irma! We got 2 packs having learned our lesson before! We also got a box of mini cinnamon rolls, some crisps and water. We looked for our Cookies & Cream pie we like to get but they didn’t have it. Probably just as well!

After taking the shopping to the room we immediately left to go to Disney Springs for dinner. We decided on Polite Pig but it was quite busy. There was a lovely staff member telling everyone what they could get on QSDP and she pointed out that if we wanted we could sit at the bar and be served quicker. Unfortunately there was a lack of communication as the bar couldn’t process dining plan credits.

Big queue.

Since we’d now lost our place in the large queue we decided to go elsewhere. Elsewhere ended up being D-Luxe burger which I was happy about as we’d still never got round to trying it. Marie didn’t fancy a burger however having looked at the “secret” menu she chose a grilled cheese instead. This came with fries and in hindsight they would have been enough for both of us but instead I ordered a side of fries and used a snack credit to go with my BBQ Burger. We both got fountain drinks. At D-Luxe you order at the counter and they bring your food to your table using a pager to locate you.

I know there are a lot of people who say these burgers are amazing and others say they’re too greasy. Can I say they’re both? They are very juicy but it was one of the best burgers I ever had. The fries were so so and Marie said the cheese wasn’t very cheesey. The dips were garlic ranch which I found too garlicky, honey mustard which was ok, chipotle mayo and BBQ. I did however really enjoy my burger and aimed to get back there!

The last food of the day was a free Ghirardelli chocolate square!

Credits used – 6 QS, 4 snacks (1 wasted and 1 unnecessary)

I agree. I'm sure the last time we had something decent although I think BA have done the best plane food I've had.

Oh dear at the grey stuff cupcake.

We found Polite Pig too busy the other week two, it was bedlam, I had really wanted to try it too. We ended up at PH and had the best burger ever there.
