Sarku, I Drive Outlet food court

Feeling peckish and undecided whether we are eating out later or not , a lady was handing out samples of teriyaki chicken as walked through the food court which tasted delicious so we had one portion with some fried rice. It was yummy and cost $8.

Food court looked like it had some new places since our last visit and was quiet and empty at 6.30

Cabana Grill and Bar, The Point Hotel

Rounded off travel day with a stop off at the hotel bar, taking shelter from a mighty downpour.

I had a Tropical Mule which was zingy and refreshing, Andy had two Angry Orchard ciders.

I chose the chicken egg rolls from the appetiser menu - spicy chicken and cheese in crispy tortilla with a ranch dip. Super Yummy

Andy had wings but I didnt get a pic - It was all good tho. And a big pile of them.

Hotel Breakfast

We had planned to go to Perkins to use the 20% sign up voucher that I had, but we were handed free breakfast slips when we checked in so decided we would give it a try

It’s a small dining area and quite busy - you hand the slip in and are given your crockery and glasses.

They had a small selection of fruit and yoghurt, bread, bagels, a few cereals and then hot items - sausages, scrambled eggs, hash browns, French toast , gritz.

They also had starbucks coffee in the dispensers or you could pay and have a speciality starbucks like a cappuccino or whatever.

Limited pic as it was too crowded to get a decent photo.

As a freebie, it was perfectly fine.

Panera Bread, Vineland

After a slightly fractious morning, we stopped here for lunch.

What a little oasis of calm this was. Service was excellent and the food superb. We were surprised by the volume too. Such good quality

Andy chose the Steak and Cheese toasted sandwich that came with some crisps.

I went for the half and half. Half a Turkey,Cheese and Apple sandwich with a small mac’n’cheese. It came with some of their flatbread.

And I had a cheery Cheese Brittany as well.

It was all absolutely delicious. The bread on my sandwich was gorgeous.

We could really have shared just one meal as it was much more than we had planned for.

Red Lobster 5936 I Drive

This was round the corner from the hotel so towards the bottom end of I Drive ( opposite end to Pointe Orlando)

WE had shopped ourselves out and were quite tired but decided to eat now (about 7) before we started the task of packing away our shopping haul.

This was a great choice - not busy and served quickly.

The cheddar biscuits came out quickly - we didnt eat them all though, finally learned not to do that and fill up before dinner comes out !

I went for the superb value $16.99 4 course feast and a Bahama Mama ($7.99)

A small cup of Potato and bacon Soup

Caesar Salad

Coconut Shrimp with rice

And upgraded to dessert to the Key Lime Pie to go ( promptly leaving it in the fridge the next morning when we left for New Orleans. Tragedy TBH)

All of it was delicious

Andy went for the endless shrimp .

You get two sides with the first lot of shrimp and then they keep topping up as required on the shrimp. He went with Garlic and Nashville ( not on the menu but a spicy hot sauce) with fries and coleslaw.

The first lot completely defeated him so not so endless in the end
He had a water as he was driving
Excellent value $46 for all that food. We had a great server and left a $10 tip.

Market Cafe,N Peter St, FrenchMarket

But first ...
We had breakfast at MCO. I wasn’t sure it deserved it own post ..
😂😂😂

I had a sausage McMuffin , Andy had a Steak and Cheese sub from Jersey Mikes. He assured me it tasted better than it looked ...

It was 7.30 am. That excuses the poor effort

So, after arriving in New Orleans mid morning we made our way in the stifling heat over towards the riverfront to listen to a jazz band over lunch

I went for a Louisiana Lemonade

I had hummus with tomatoes, feta and pitta

Andy had a gyro in pitta with salad and fries

Yes that’s right. Basically Beer, chips and a kebab

I finished with a pecan pie . This was a bit “gloopy” and let down an otherwise nice lunch.

We sat listening to the band and chatting to a couple from Florida.

It’s a pretty basic looking place when you walk past but the music and food were just fine

Orleans Grapevine, Orleans Ave

One of our favourites and directly opposite our hotel.

Our hotel is on the left, the bistro on the right .. you can just see people sat outside

This time we sat in the courtyard

Menu has not changed ... all so yummy

I had a Hand Grenade Martini. Not quite as nice as I remembered it I battled on tho

Andy went for a bottle of Malbec

We shared the Brie to start, along with the house bread

I went for the Filet , Andy had the lamb

Well these were just delicious. The meat was superbly cooked and so tender. The potatoes were really tasty and veg was perfect, slightly crunchy. You can’t fully see the beans, okra and broccoli that was also there.
It was outstanding.

I soldiered on to dessert

Opting for the bread pudding

This defeated me But was gorgeous

And the bill

After the tip, topped out close to $190 but totally worth it.

A lovely evening, only just short of perfect owing to the loud twerp on the next table who had no volume control on his crass conversation.
