Just seen this!

You are certainly eating and drinking well
Love the homage to Neilh - I thought of his eggcellent trip report as soon as you started on the egg jokes 😂

Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Ha ha thank you. Sadly we’ve hit rain which kind of wrecks the beach trips. I knew there was a reason we didn’t do beach holidays 😂

Court of Two Sisters

This was my birthday lunch treat .

A quick pre drink in PatO Briens and having had a hurricane by 1130 decided to stick with rum based cocktails for the remainder of the day - error !

Lunch was booked for 1230 . Not as busy as last time when we arrived at 2.

Andy had a bottle of Malbec and I had a Zombie. Far too strong. and couldnt really manage much of it

Buffet choices were as good as the previous visit. You don’t see many people taking food pics here so Andy told me people were looking at me taking these. Not that I was bothered after that Zombie juice

although i do feel the desserts are a disappointment as they look like something that could have come out of Costco rather than an in house made . Not that there is anything at all wrong with Costco cakes, they are lovely, I was just hoping for something a bit more homestyle .

I made the error of having a biscuit with the starter which filled me up
I managed a couple of plates of starters and main courses , the jambalaya and duck being the most delicious.

Andy fared much better than I did and had the rib roast

I did feel full and attempted the king Cake (a Mardi Gras tradition) with ice cream . It was incredibly sweet .

We had a delightful server who really made the afternoon so nice. It was as perfect as before with the sunshine, the birds in the trees and the mellow jazz in the background. It is very lovely.

It’s $32 per head, the wine was $32 for the bottle and with my $9 cocktail and tax the bill was $116. I will find the receipt and upload but am typing in the dark as Andy is asleep

We waddled out just before the lunch service closed at 3pm.
A serious afternoon nap was required

I hadn’t realised you’d started!

Playing catch up then. The flight food looked... insert choice word here.

Poor show from Andy on the Endless Shrimp at Red Lobster hope he bucks his ideas up

Your meal at the Grapevine looked lush. It had made my short list but then dropped off so I need to find a way to get it back on.

The Court of Two Sisters is a definite for me, especially if we get a seat in the courtyard. Looks amazing.

Dat Dog also looks great for a “dirty” meal... I did chuckle at ‘Haute Dog’ eggsellent

Ah the Grapevine is superb, but then, so are lots of places !
We have struggled with portion sizes so far.
Not so much the cocktails though
Andy has been eating shrimp for England !

Lasyone’s,Natchitoches

We pitched up here around 1245. The town was packed out as it was the weekend of the car cruise.

We were lucky to get a spot right outside the restaurant.

Definitely a locals place.

Only one thing to have here is one of the famous Fatty deep fried meat pie.

Which we did with chips and gravy

I wasnt sure about it at first but as I went on I did quite like it. Andy says it reminded him of a Scotch Pie. The gravy was very flavoursome.

We thought it was quite funny that every server came over to ask if we were ok. We could see them having a natter about us and we are sure that they did it because they wanted to hear us speak. I did duly oblige by declaring things to be absolutely super .

The queue for the loo was interesting at the back of the restaurant in the storeroom

Opposite the big meat locker

Bill was less than $25 .
