Little Jack’s Tavern, King Street

So, to be clear.

Both today’s places are on King Street.

What we learned is there is about 2 miles between them as it’s a blimmin long Street

The walk started off fine but after a mile the novelty wore off and the scenery became less shall we say touristy. It’s not a walk I would recommend. Take a taxi. It’s worth a visit for sure. But all the locals drive there.

Having finally got here, we were pleased we had a reservation. It became busy

I went for a south side

Andy had a cider

We skipped starters.

When our food came basically I had a happy meal and he had the rest of the cow

Very nice it was too.

I had cheesecake

And intended to take what I couldn’t finish in a to go box but forgot to pick it up when our taxi arrived to take us back

It bills itself as an old school diner which it definitely felt like. Our server was fantastic, so enthusiastic about the food, made a big difference to the meal. He was great. We could see why it was so popular with locals.

The Black Marlin does look really good, and those mozzarella slabs look delicious 😋

Groucho’s Deli, King Street

Yes everything seems to be on King Street

We had plans for Another Broken Egg for breakfast but were still full from last night and had a tour booked at 10 so breakfast was abandoned in favour of a quick lunch before starting our travels again.

Groucho’s was just along from our hotel and a great authentic deli/sub place.

We just had water

I went for a plain turkey sandwich but had it served warm. Yum

Andy had the STP - beef, turkey, bacon and cheese.

Totally reasonable bill ! All very fresh and super quick service.
