Five Fords Fifth Family Floriday Aug 18 - Day 21 - Checking into the Beach Club, Cape May & MNSSHP

Tuesday 28th August

We still had a fair bit of packing to do this morning so I got on with the task whilst everyone else got ready for the day.
.
Scott went over to the food court for the last time to get us some coffees, I had finally finished the packing just after 9am and we were all ready to leave.

We walked over to bell services and explained we were checking into to the Beach Club so wanted the bags to go there. All easily sorted I went on to order an Uberxl which was there within minutes.

Before we knew it we were checking into the Beach Club!

The front of the building was being repainted so there was a bit of scaffolding but it still looked really lovely.

The Cast Member was very helpful and sorted our new magicbands out she also explained that they’d email us when our room was available so we were all set.

Scott checked us into Cape May next as we had a breakfast reservation for 10.20. We were early and didn’t expect to be called in for a little while but as luck would have it we went in very soon.

Our table was located in a small cosy section off to the side of the restaurant. One by one to characters came over to say hello.

I love this character breakfast as it’s always felt really relaxed and the characters seem to spend a fair bit of time with everyone.

There’s also a good selection of breakfast foods here with lots of our favourites being included.

Our server Dorothy was so sweet and kept coming over to tell us little interesting stories about her travels and family life.

When we left at 11.30 after seeing the characters numerous times we were all stuffed! We had a bit of a chill in the foyer of the Beach Club.

What we really needed after all that food was a lie down though so we headed over to Stormalong Bay.

Wow the pool just looked amazing and Poppy couldn’t believe there was sand at the bottom of it!

Grabbed a couple of beds and I managed to have a sit down for 10 minutes.

I’d packed our swimwear in a little bag and we changed and then went in the pool for a lovely cool down.

A while later I checked my emails and noticed that I’d received a message to say the room was now ready. I thought that I’d go to check it out and also take the bag up which had our change of clothes in.

I somehow managed to get a little lost along the way and had to ask a porter for directions and some help!

Anyhow I made it in the end which was a standard studio and we were located on a high floor. There looked to be plenty of room for the 3 nights we’d be staying here and I loved how we had a cute little balcony.

Went back down to the pool and found the boys relaxing on the sun beds and Poppy had just come out of Beaches and Cream with her dad carrying an ice cream. I still felt quite full otherwise I would’ve got in for one too.

Moments later we heard the life guards all shouting for everyone to get out of the pool so we collected our things and decided to have a walk over to Epcot. The sky was dark but it wasn’t yet raining.
It literally took us 5 minutes to walk over I couldn’t believe how close we were.

Hayden felt a bit peckish and wanted some more of the Poutine from the refreshment port. After that we headed over to France and used a QS on a baguette and a Mimosa.

Took the short walk back to the Beach Club where we stopped off at the marketplace to use some more of our Quick Service credits up. We were able to stock our little fridge up!

The kids really loved the room and now we were staying put there we called Bell Services who promptly brought our bags up. We tipped the porter then we noticed it had started to rain, quite heavy too.

We showered and got changed as we were going to Mickey’s not so Scary Halloween Party that afternoon.

Poppy wanted to wear a costume to the party so I said I’d dress up too so she didn’t feel alone. I knew they’d be no way would any of the lads dress up. Whilst we weren’t original with our outfits and there was nothing elaborate about them they only cost £15 for the both of them. We felt we looked different from our usual and had tried to make a bit of an effort.

The rain wasn’t letting up and if anything was getting worse but we knew had some point we had to make our way out.
Poncho’s and umbrella at the ready we made our way over to the bus stop, it was a little after 5pm so the party had started to Magic Kingdom.

Thankfully there was lots of cover at the bus stop which was good as lots of people were waiting in fancy dress. Something we noticed though was all the accents we heard were American whereas at Port Orleans the majority of accents we heard were British.

The bus came in fact two arrived and whilst it was a squeeze everyone got on. It took ages to get though the traffic was so bad and we crawled along for the last mile.

When we finally arrived we walked to the entrance and it was utter mayhem! We used our tickets to gain entrance to the party and received a wristband except for Hayden they’d been some confusion with the Cast Member not giving it to him. We went back to ask for the wristband and his attitude was shocking and he told Hayden to go back to scan his wristband! We explained that we’d used the ticket for the event. Anyway Hayden was getting stressed by it all a couple more CM’s came over and insisted we all scanned our tickets!

I honestly think they thought we’d just wandered in! We’d paid a lot of money for this event and it was a rubbish start to it. Eventually they let us through and gave Hayden a wristband. Thankfully once inside Hayden was ok as I explained that he’d done nothing wrong. His Autism means he doesn’t like to break the rules or tell untruths.
As it was still raining quite heavy we decided to put our poncho’s on.

Unsure where to pick a bag up from we asked a cast member who directed us one way and then we got directed to another point which wasn’t open. I think we could’ve picked a bag up from any trick or treat station that was open but nobody told us that.

We wanted to be out of the rain too so we walked round a few and filled our bags up.
The park seemed very busy to me and very chaotic.

We decided to go on a ride. Big Thunder Mountain was 5 minutes so we rode that. It seemed to go really fast not sure if it was because of the rain, it was a really good ride.

Next ride we went to was the Haunted Mansion and went in there next.

Once we came out we queued for an hour for a photo op here which was a real waste of time!

As we walked round we noticed the park looked a little different in places but really if it wasn’t for seeing people in their costumes you’d hardly had known it as a Halloween night. There was the odd bit of lighting in places and some Halloween music in a few locations but nothing special. At least now it had stopped raining.

Noticed a few different characters but the lines were ridiculously long so we didn’t bother.

Poppy and Jamie went on Barnstormer next then we went to Cosmic Ray’s to get something to eat, we used our last QS credits here.

Afterwards we watched HallowWishes which were quite good. We stood on the bridge as it was near and not too crowded there.

We walked round to get a view of the stage so that we could watch the Hocus Pocus show, this was ok.

Then we waited for the parade which was ok too. No headless horseman though!

Our night consisted of a lot of walking and a lot of lines - we did enjoy the night but it was a lot of money for what it was.

Once finished it was nearly midnight we just had a few snack credits to use up. It was so manic in the shops too, we left the park then and of course it was super busy at the bus stop.

We waited a while for a bus but luckily we managed to get a seat. It seemed to take ages to get back to the Beach Club even though the driver had his foot down most of the way!

Eventually we were in our room just after 1am. We got the beds ready and went to bed.

We had enjoyed the party especially the kids. It was something different but personally I was expecting it to be something a bit more special. I probably wasn’t feeling it because it was August!
Even so we were excited to be at the Beach Club for our last 3 nights of our holiday

The beach club looks amazing Julia - that walk to epcot is just fab. I really do want to stay there one day.

It sounds like the party was a bit of a disappointment - it really must add up when paying for 5 as well! I’m glad the kids enjoyed it.

I think I’ve read this report in such a random order - apologies if my comments are on some days but not others, I’ve loved reading about them all.

Ps - the colour on your toenails look lovely!

Oh, the Beach Club looks so lovely... I'd love to stay there or the Yacht Club some day. It's such a pretty area and great proximity to Epcot for a stroll over there.

It seems as if MNSSHP wasn't a huge success even though you enjoyed it well enough. It's a lot of extra money for some sweets really, especially if you already have full park tickets. We've never been to MNSSHP but we did go to the Christmas party last year and felt the same. Thankfully we only had the two of us to pay for, but even then, although we had a good time, it was an expensive Disney fix.

I hope you all enjoyed your stay at the Beach Club, it really does look a nice way to finish your holiday off.

Hi Michelle thanks for sticking with me

I think it was a mixture of the terrible weather and the attitude of the Cast Member at the entrance!
Kids enjoyed it so that was the main thing

It was amazing there we have never stayed at a deluxe resort before. It was only because we rented points otherwise we wouldn't have afforded it.

The parties are so expensive but we thought we'd give it a go. The weather wasn't good and we didn't get off to a good start!

Thanks for reading along Lynda and for your comments
