Five Fords Fifth Family Floriday Aug 18 - Day 23 - Epcot F&W Festival & Magic Kingdom

Thursday 30th August

Our last full day

Slept really well the beds here are ever so comfy. Our room is situated near to the road and compared to Port Orleans Riverside is very noisy. Thankfully the double glazing on the patio doors stops the majority of the noise so it wasn’t that much of an issue.

Scott went down to the market place to get our hot drinks then he changed has he was going back over to the Hilton near Disney Springs to pick our car up.

He got an Uber over there and was back in no time. Scott was offered an upgrade for $4 to a really big SUV which he took and that way we knew we wouldn’t have an issue with trying to fit all our luggage in.

It was 9.30 when the kids woke up and we had our breakfast which consisted of Poptarts, cupcakes and fruit cups!

We put our swim gear on and headed down to the main pool for a while. I tried the hot tub out which felt really hot, I only managed a couple of minutes in there. Probably not a good idea to go in on such a warm day!

Checked out the lazy river which was really good fun. It was quite deep in places though.

Managed to have quite a few goes on the slide too, we all thought this pool was brilliant.

The sky started to get darker and darker and before we knew it the life guards were calling everyone out of the pool. It was closing due to the weather! Didn’t matter too much as we’d already decided to get out.

Once back in our room we all showered and changed, it was absolutely pouring down now. So once we were ready we had no choice but to put our poncho’s on again.

We left at midday and by the time we’d walked outside the rain had virtually stopped. I was grateful for that as I wanted to take a few photos of the kids on the beach.

Once finished we entered Epcot and it was the first day of the Food & Wine Festival. We have never been to any of the Epcot festivals before so we were super excited to be to visiting today.

Of course not being on the dining plan meant we had to pay for everything - most of the food choices we had would’ve been one snack credit.

Some of the prices were very expensive for the small quantity that you received but we had fun trying out new and different foods. Of course for Scott and I we tried a few new wines and beers!

A few of the foods we tried were from France, Italy, Africa, Spain, Greece and a few others too. It would’ve been lovely to have spent more time in Epcot but we wanted to finish our last day in Magic Kingdom.

We then said our goodbyes to Epcot.

Of course we had to travel over to Magic Kingdom on the Monorail.

We headed over to Big Thunder Mountain as this was our first fastpass, Poppy’s new favourite!

I got a return time for Splash Mountain while we were in the area as Hayden wanted to go on it. By the time we’d finished riding BTM our return time was open so we went straight onto Splash Mountain. Well Scott took the boys on whilst we watched them getting soaked as they came down the big drop!

Next ride was 7DMT which we had a fastpass for, followed by Space Mountain which of course Poppy wouldn’t ride. I took Poppy on Dumbo instead which we both so enjoyed.

We had a look in Big Top Souvenirs to kill a bit of time before walking back over to Space Mountain. Talk about good timing the boys had just come off the ride.

Time for a couple more snacks, we picked a favorite one out then a new snack which was very yummy!

We managed to get on the Railroad next, it was very full but we managed to squeeze on. We did a full circle round which makes for a lovely bit of chill time. Just before we arrived at the Fantasy Land stop we saw two deer stunning alongside of us.

The kids were starting to feel a little hungry so we thought we’d try Columbia Harbour House but it had just closed. We didn’t realise it closed early. We grabbed an Incredible burgers from Cosmic Rays for Hayden then some hot dogs from Casey's Corner!

Walked over to Carousel of Progress next as Poppy had been asking to go on this most of the day so it was either now or never!

The park was really quiet now so we had no real wait for this classic and it gave us an opportunity to sit down for a while.
Unfortunately in the Christmas/future room the sound wasn’t working – I think the ride was closed after we left.

As we were in the area we decided to go into the laughter floor. It was so funny in there it’s really great how everyone joins along with the fun and jokes.

When we came back out it had turned really dark so we didn’t have long left. Our last ride would be the people mover, one of favourites. Again as we went through the Space Mountain part the lights were on so we could see the track. I felt a little sad as we left the ride knowing it was our last one in Disney World.

We had 15 minutes to find a space on Main St. Even though the park was quiet it was packed along Main Street so we had no hope of getting down there. We walked back to the bridge on Tomorrowland, same place where we watched Hallowishes and stayed there to watch Happily Ever After.

The show started and we really enjoyed watching the fireworks, we had room around which was good for Hayden.

Afterwards we headed into a few shops as Poppy wanted to get a couple of soft toys. We also picked up a few more little souvenirs before saying goodbye to Magic Kingdom.

Once at the bus stop we had quite a long wait, obviously it was really busy so we weren’t able to get on the first bus that came
.
I’m not sure why but it felt like the ride back to the Beach Club took so much longer than the ride out? When we did get back it was too late to go for a swim in the main pool as it was 10.30. We also assumed that the movies under the stars would now have finished too. Poppy was a little disappointed about this so we consoled with a trip to the food court to get a hot chocolate!

Back in the room I did a little more packing, we had only been using one of our cases so there wasn’t a great deal to do. We showered and changed before getting into bed.
We really enjoyed our first time visit to the Food & Wine Festival and then of course Magic Kingdom.
Couldn’t believe we’d be going home tomorrow.

It is sad when you know you're coming to the end of your holiday. Still we had the most amazing time.

Lovely photos of you all today, and of MK at night too. Great morning in the pool and lazy river... it looks like such a pretty area.

I've always wanted to eat around the world at the Food & Wine Festival, so it was good seeing some of the treats you had. It's a shame it wasn't when you had the free dining though. What a fab end to the day at MK, you did loads and it just all sounds like a great time was had by you all.
