Today was our very last day of the holiday, as tomorrow we'd be flying home! I had Magic Kingdom planned for today, with many plans for the day including the fireworks and several rides.

However - a cold had been building in me for a few days, and I woke up this morning feeling truly awful. Completely blocked up, sore head, sore throat, just ugh. We decided to take it easy first of all - I took some paracetemol, and I started to feel a little better after an hour or so. We decided to head into MK around 10AM after all - after already missing an MK day at the beginning of the holiday, I really didn't want to miss another!




Once parked, we took the ferry over, and headed to our first FP for Pirates of the Caribbean. I'd been hoping MK would be a little quieter today, like Epcot had been yesterday, but no such luck, it was still really busy.





We joined the short FP queue, and were on the ride in no time. Myla actually started to fidget a little as we were getting on the boats - it was dark, and the music was a bit ominous, and she was getting a bit scared. She clung to me most of the ride and really didn't like it. We were all a little underwhelmed as well - being so used to the Paris version of Pirates, this seemed so short and basic! Still enjoyed it - but Paris is better.

We looked around the gift shop a while too, I love the theming in here.




For our next FP, I had booked Meet Ariel at noon - after the Anna and Elsa went so well the previous day, I wanted to give Myla the chance to meet 1 more princess! So we walked across the park to New Fantasyland. It was getting really hot by now, 28 or 29 degrees, and the heat was getting to me. I think the paracetamol was starting to wear off, and boy was I glad to get inside Ariel's Grotto, out of the sun, crowds, and the heat for a while!





We didn't have to wait long - we had such a lovely Ariel! Myla was a bit shyer again than she had been the previous day, but she didn't turn away screaming, so I still count that for a win! Ariel was SO nice - talking to Myla, commenting on her mermaid dress, and giving her a little tickle. I know Myla's not smiling in the pictures, but after we left, she was grinning from ear to ear over having met a mermaid haha.

Everyone but me was starting to get hungry now, so we headed down to Cosmic Ray's for burgers and chips. They were only mediocre - none of us loved their burgers, and I really only had a bite or two of mine. No photos of this either - I usually take the majority of the photos, and because I was struggling, I have hardly any photos of today, I just didn't have the energy for it.

We had another FP booked for Big Thunder Mountain at 13:30, but I felt so unwell sitting there at Cosmic Ray's - I only wanted to go home and go to bed. So unfortunately we decided to cut the day short. I was gutted, but it's just one of those things. I suppose it's better to get sick at the end than at the beginning anyway!



We made our way to the castle, and decided to do one last Photopass picture as a goodbye to Disney. Our timing was spot on, as there were fireworks going off behind us!



We took the monorail back to TTC, walked back to the car and drove back to the apartment. I took more paracetamol and went to bed, Michael put Myla down for her nap, and then he and my mom went to Walmart for some last supplies and more cold remedies. I slept most of the afternoon (as did Myla) and we just had a quiet afternoon at the apartment, finishing packing and taking it easy.


Total bust for the plans I'd had for today, I was so frustrated, but tried to focus on the amazing holiday we'd had instead - very sad to be leaving indeed!

What a shame you felt poorly on your last day, it's nice that you managed to get one more character meet in though.
