ADR wishlist

Good evening everyone

I've been so busy going on about my daily plan I forgot to tell you all I'd finally come to a decision regarding our 3 ADR's for Disney!

Me and Ryan had made a list a while back and from there managed to narrow it down to what we (He) believed were our final choices, however leave me alone doing Disney planning and that was all about to change.

I placed all the Disney restaurants into a table as you know for the quick service so began to do the same for table service in the parks, Disney springs and the resorts. I highlighted the places I had eaten before as I would have liked to tried at least 1 new place.

You'll be happy to know i'm not going to go through every table service restaurant telling you why I did or didn't pick them like the quick services as that just seems like i'd have a 5 page post on food

I knew there were going to be repeats and with only 3 choices it was extremely hard to narrow down. One of Ryan's must do's was Teppan Edo however after the suggest of Kobe i've taken this off the Disney list as it just makes more sense to use the Disney meals for meal experiences we cant get off site.

Last year on the way to our Boathouse reservation we uber shared a car to disney springs with some other onsite guests. We told them where we were eating and they said it was amazing and explained a few things about the menu. Anyway fast forward to our meal nothing they had mentioned was on the menu. We left the restaurant and realised they were talking about next door. We read the menu and looked at the restaurant its self and said " next time we come we must eat here" Which brings me to our first choice The paddle fish.

I haven't heard any reviews of this place but its kind of become a must after seeing the building itself. It's beautiful and the menu really appeals to us both. Slightly more expensive but hey we are on holiday. It might not make sense going to a Disney springs meal when we could just go offsite but we said we'd eat here so I want to make it happen. A new one for both of us which i'm excited about!

Next on the list is Tuskers house. I LOVE it here. I haven't been for 5 years and I'm really excited to take Ryan. He coped extremely well with character meals on his first trip and I think he'll enjoy the character meets here as well as the food. Animal kingdom is our favourite park so it only seems fair we choose a restaurant here. If my research is correct I'm hoping to book a 10:15/10:30am slot and get both breakfast and lunch items. A repeat for me but its all new for Ryan.

Ohana's is the next one and another of Ryan's picks. I know it's expensive here but he likes the look of the menu. I have been here 3 years ago and loved the food but hated the service. We were waiting 40 minutes for our table then got rushed through the whole thing I've wanted to give it another go and this seems the perfect time to do so. I love the Poly and I'd like Ryan to be able to have a look around as well as enjoy a lovely meal. I know this is an extremely hard to get reservations so I've got everything crossed I can sort something out for us.

So onto restaurant 4 yes number 4 out of 3. I've added The Whispering Canyon onto the list. Again another repeat for me but I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. I took Ryan to 50's prime time on his first trip and he really enjoyed the theming plus the atmosphere so I think he will really get into this restaurant and the food is great. Its quite a good price for Disney too!

And the final pick is Chef Art Smith's Homecomin'. I keep reading such amazing reviews about this place. I really felt like we should try it. Plus its another first for me which means I get to try two new restaurants in Disney.

So thats our 5 picks. Its gone up a little from 3 I know some people will be surprised with our choices but it really made sense to us in what we want. I probably should have picked table service places in the parks but we kept coming back to the same ones. It wont be long now before ADR day so I'm not planning on changing the list again. Famous last words. If anything we will end up dropping one however I cant see that is likely to happen. Any after rereading all my must do's I'm really not sure how i plan to fit all these meals in. Well it looks like its 5 meals a day for us

Let me know what your thoughts are!

I knew you wouldn't stick to 3 It's just so hard isn't it. I'm really looking forward to hearing about Paddlefish, I've heard good reviews from there. I'm happy to see Tusker House on the list, it was one of our favourite TS character meals Yay you added Homecomin', you won't be disappointed! We haven't tried O'hana or Whispering Canyon, but in regards to O'hana I've heard lots of reviews about the rushing people through. I suppose if you let them know beforehand you don't want to be rushed it shouldn't be a problem x

Your 5 out of 3 picks! We ended up with more than we have credits for too as it is just so hard to narrow it down.

You have made some great choices there. I really liked the look of both Trails End and Chef Art Smiths but they didn't make it onto our final list as there were just too many. We thought about Tusker House too but we have already got a couple of other meals with similar characters and there are some great QS options at AK so we decided against it.

Paddlefish is a great looking building and I think you made the right choice if you've been wanting to go there since your last trip. I must admit that we weren't impressed with the service at 'Ohana either but it might be better for you this time and Ryan obviously really wants to try it.

Paddlefish is somewhere that looks stunning. I'm another who has never been so can't comment on it. I hope you enjoy it. I'm glad you're saving your Teppan Edo fix for Kobe instead, I'm sure you will love it. The idea of doing at least one character meal is great, plus it will be fab to have a reservation in the park. Tusker is a brilliant choice I don't think it's changed at all in the five years since you've been, but that's great why would they change it? It's perfect already. I'm sad we're not going back we didn't do it last year, but we've been twice.

'Ohana is one that I've sworn never to return to. We've had dinner there twice and neither time was good. Ok, so the food is delicious but both times the service was shocking. I've seen a DFB video where they said you can order the meat, noodles, pot stickers and pudding in the Tambu Lounge, which is the bar at the entrance to the restaurant. I'm just saying it's another option for you if you want to head to the Poly you could eat at the lounge instead.

Whispering Canyon is one I can definitely get on board with. It's a fab restaurant. I hope you ask for ketchup! It nearly made the cut for this year, but in the end I've parked it for another year.

Homecomin is one we've not done as there are so many good QS options at DS. One day...

You've done so well to narrow it down to 5 choices. I'm not surprised your original 3 went up a little.

It was impossible to only pick three I'm glad you've heard some good reviews about Paddlefish that makes me feel slightly happier about picking somewhere that not many people seem to go. Tuskers house is amazing so i hope it lives up to what I remember. Thats what I'm thinking. Also if i go in knowing that may be the case it wont be so much of a shock if it happens.

I couldn't only pick three. So many people have mentioned Homecomin' that i feel I've got to try it!

I hope its the right choice. It looks fantastic so hoping the inside will be just as good. I am worried about the amount of money it will cost for the experience we get but the food is always so good I've got my fingers crossed.

I'm quite excited to try somewhere new! Ryan is really up for Kobe so thank you for suggesting it! I think it makes the most sense as the Disney version would have worked out so much more expensive.

Im glad we are getting to do one character meal. Ryan is happy to meet the characters but he doesnt always want to queue to see them so its the best of both worlds.

I have heard about the lounge and ordering the food there. I need to look into that maybe if we dont get a reservaion however i feel like ryan might be pretty set on it.

Im 100% making him ask for ketchup. Ryan is great at getting involved so im hoping we get to see some funny antics here because of that!

I dont think it was ever going to be 3 oops

First plan

So heres the first rough plan. I'm not overly happy with how the second part of the holiday flows. I like to try and do a different park in the evenings so it makes it feel like we have more visits to each park. I haven't added in my dining yet and I haven't added in all the evening parks but please let me know what you think and what i should change. Our favourite park is Animal Kingdom and we aren't as overly keen on Hollywood studios so thats why theres not as much time planned there. Ryan also isn't overly keen on Epcot so not huge amounts of time there either.

Saturday - Flights / Villa / Shopping / Universal

Sunday - Animal Kingdom / Rest back at the Villa / Animal Kingdom

Monday - Hollywood Studios / Typhoon Lagoon or Pool / Magic Kingdom

Tuesday - Seaworld /

Wednesday - Magic Kingdom / Mini Golf / Epcot

Thursday - 6 Park challenge

Friday - All aboard the Dream

Saturday - Disney Dream

Sunday - Disney Dream

Monday - Epcot / Typhoon lagoon or pool or Golf / Hollywood Studios

Tuesday - Universal /

Wednesday - Busch Gardens /

Thursday - Magic Kingdom /

Friday -

Saturday - Animal kingdom /

Sunday - / Flights home.

Let me know what you guys think.

You might want to think about putting in another morning slot for HS or swapping an evening for a morning. I know you said that it's not your favourite park, but it looks like the boarding passes for Rise of the Resistance are here to stay as WDW have removed EMH for HS. If you're not bothered about Rise then stick with your current plans.

Otherwise I'm not sure I'd change anything. By the way have you been watching any of the Adam Hatton vlogs? He's been cruising on the Dream and I've totally fallen for it! I'm thinking that I will have to add this on for 2021! I know you've cruised before so I'm sure you know everything anyway, but boy does it look awesome. I'm totally hooked on the idea. I spent many hours yesterday looking up prices, but there is no way I can afford a cruise add on for this year, so it's going to have to be next year for us.

I agree with Abby looks like the boarding passes are here for good at the moment. Only other suggestion I'd make is on the days where you've said Typhoon Lagoon or pool I would maybe try and keep a morning/afternoon aside for TL. The second week I'd probably look at doing at least 1 evening at HS, MK, AK and Epcot for the fireworks if your into those. We don't really enjoy ROL at AK so we probably wouldn't do that though. I'd also maybe squeeze another day in at Universal if you can, or did you only have 1 day tickets? If you don't have 1 day tickets I think 1 day at US and 1 day at IOA xx

I did wonder this I'm just not sure if we can be bothered with trying to get a boarding pass. We aren't into Star wars at all but everyone is now making me think I should at least try?

I've not! But I will defiantly check his videos out thank you! You so need to try it! Once you've cruised once you'll never look back. I'm certain there is always more to learn so defiantly going to watch his videos. I find the 3 night ones not badly priced when you work out whats included however you do have a mega trip planned this year so may be slightly out of budget. I can 100% recommend. I hope you can be convinced to add it to next years trip

I think we need to make the decision as to whether we are wanting to try for a boarding pass or not hmmm. The problem I have is on the day after the cruise where we start at Epcot this is because we will be getting off the cruise that morning so theres no chance of getting a boarding pass that day.I suppose i could go early morning to hollywood get a boarding pass (or try) then head to another park. What I'm worried about is going to Hollywood early getting a pass then being stuck in the morning chaos as I've seen even at rope drop the ride queues to be 100 mins.

We don't tend to put aside afternoons for water parks as a couple of hours is more than enough for us.

I haven't even thought about fireworks gosh. We definitely are firework people. I need to figure out whens best to go. We tend to go the first week for fireworks as well as we dont struggle as much to stay out later.

No we have 14 day passes i wasn't sure where to place the day as we already have one day after the cruise so i didn't know if i needed to squeeze it into the first week or not? xx

I like the way that you've put the 6 park day just before your cruise when you'll have a few days off park touring.

I would definitely try to fit in an extra morning to get a boarding group for ROTR, even if it is only as a plan B in case you don't get one on your first visit. I'm finding HS is really difficult to plan this time because even if you do manage to get a boarding pass you've no way of knowing what time you'll be called.

I'd be tempted to try and squeeze in an extra day at Universal - is there any way you could do an overnight stay for FOTL passes as then you'd be able to get loads done so might only need the morning on the second day and could combine the day with one of the fireworks shows.

On your first two days I would move MK to Sunday eve and Epcot to Mon eve so you've visited all 4 parks in the first 2 days before a day offsite. Then on the Wed you could do MK, then AK.

What time will you be back at Disney after getting off the Dream? I'm wondering if having 2 parks plus a water park/golf might be a bit much that day?

I'd probably try to do all 4 parks on Mon Tue after the cruise then do Busch and a couple of days at Universal before having the last couple of days back in the Disney parks. I think I would try and put MK and AK on your last two days because they're your favourite parks and if it was me I'd want one last visit.

Sorry that has turned into quite a lot of waffle! I hope some of my confused thoughts are helpful.
