Day out at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Yesterday we went to The Pleasure Beach so thought I'd do a little recap of our day! Never done one of these but love reading all of yours.

We had a child free night the night before so we knew were collecting Jenson (8) from the mother in laws in the morning which was on the way.

Woke up around 8 and walked the dog. Came back and packed our bag for the day and then took me 30 mins to get hubby out of bed! (I will leave him in bed if he does this in Florida)!

Finally he's up and ready so we go and drop the dog off with my mum and hit the road to collect Jenson. Jenson collected and it took us 30 mins to get to Blackpool. Parked up and walked to the park to be there for half 10. Not too bad really as the park was open until 7pm that day.

One good thing about Covid is they've introduced an eticket so no needing to queue anymore at the ticket centre to get your wristbands. Just a QR code which you can create a group one for to only need to scan once and you can all get through. I printed ours and put it in my phone case so saved me keep opening it on my phone.

Valhalla is closed until 2022 and that's usually our first ride so we were a little gutted but off we go to The Big Dipper. A classic. And front row! Brilliant.

In the queue -

Next we headed off to Infusion which took some convincing on Jensons part. Andrew promised him Donuts afterwards. He wanted to sit with me and as we were going up the lift hill I could see people pointing saying awww. He was crying! Bad parents! He actually really enjoyed it but still came off crying as he banged both sides of his head being thrown around. Donuts it was and we bought a refillable cup whilst there, and off we went to Nickelodeon land to do Avatar Airbender!

After a tame ride Jenson felt up to doing Icon which he last did when he was 6 (he's very tall for his age). This is his all time favorite ride which gives me hope for velocicoaster as I think its quite similar with lap bars and the tophat part of the track.

We were going to do Revolution next but the queue was all the way to the bottom of the steps which we decided it wasn't that brilliant of a ride to warrant queuing for that length of time. So instead we went on Avalanche. Jenson asked if he could go on his own so that left me to sit and squash poor Andrews delicate area 😂

We attempted to get him on the big one but he just wasn't brave enough today which is fine by me because it meant I didn't have to do it either!

By this point it was now half 1 and we decided it was time for lunch. £20 for one footlong hotdog and 2 chilli cheese hot dog meals which I thought actually was great value.

After that to our dismay, Jenson dragged us on The Steeplechase. We hate this ride and again he wanted to go on his own but I said absolutely not 😂 he sat with me and Andrew went on his own horse, and our horse won woohoo. I definitely need a new back now.

We walked over to Grand National and the Ghost Train and the queues for these were huge so we went back over to Icon and rode again. Here is where we also bumped into Bez from The Happy Mondays. Still off his rocker!

We then did The Chinese Maze and made it out alive.

Decided to now head back to the entrance and did the rocket ships. I dont do spinning rides so I came off here feeling a little delicate!

We then decided to end the day how we started on another wooden with The Grand National, and once again Jenson had front row. I made him sit with his Dad on this one as I recall this being really rickety and the more i go on it the more I lose faith we'll make it back to the end in one piece 😂

In the queue for Grand National, my fav picture of the day -

We left the park at half 6 and as we were leaving the Pasaj Del Terror actors were out and one made a beeline for Jenson. So so funny.

I would also like to point out that we didn't wait any longer than 45 mins for a ride which was brilliant. I also wore my Tevas which I bought for Florida so thought I'd try them out to see how they faired and they were fantastic. Feet felt like a dream after 15,000 steps.

If you've made it to the end thanks for reading 😍 next up is 2 days at Alton Towers at the end of September 😬

We’re going to Blackpool for a couple of days, so great to read this. Changed a bit since I was last there - will need to do some research ☺️ Thanks for sharing!
